- Wang Sheng brought Yang Zhengshan evidence that Wuliang Hu soldiers possessed newly forged weapons, and Yang sent investigators to Beiyuan Town while urging Wang Bin to resign.
- After Pang Tang was assassinated and Zhou Lan and Wang Yunqiao were wounded, Yang Zhengshan received command of Chongshan Town and marched there with Yu Qingyi and his forces.

- Yang Zhengshan split his forces, sending Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze to raid Wuliang territory while he led three battalions on a long detour through the Snow Plains toward Yemi City.
- Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze struck tribes across the Wuliang hinterland, while Yang Zhengshan’s army crossed the plains and seized supplies without revealing its route.
