Jiang Yue and the others finally understood.
So Master Ga hadn't recruited these Mushroom People on a whim. He'd planned it all from the start. And, as it turned out, the Mushroom People were the most suitable group to care for these spirit herbs.
Of course, Master Craftsman had also said this was something he'd only recently worked out. Whether it would actually help would take time to find out.
Still, the plan had to be fairly reliable. Otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to so much trouble.
Next, Master Craftsman ran through all the details of tending the spirit herbs again, telling them everything in one go.
It was a typical cram session, but fortunately, the material wasn't especially complicated. After hearing it twice, even the slowest Mushroom People had got the hang of it.
After the lesson, Master Craftsman gave them a spot check. They'd basically mastered the material; when he questioned each of them, their answers were all reasonable.
"Not bad. Your Mushroom People have better aptitude than I expected. Perhaps having you tend these spirit herbs will yield unexpected results," Master Craftsman praised.
One of the Mushroom People asked, "Master, these spirit herbs take so long to grow. Does that mean we'll have to stay here and tend them until they're mature?"
"Master Ba should have made that clear to you already, shouldn't he? How long you stay is none of my concern. I'm only responsible for teaching you how to care for the spirit herbs."
That plan hadn't yet been unanimously approved, and its implementation was only just getting underway.
As long as they proceeded step by step, there was no need to worry about any major mishaps.
The two herb-tending attendants obviously couldn't show favoritism. They worked briskly, assigning each person specific responsibilities.
