. The two whirlwinds of earth kicked up waves of soil at least seven or eight meters high. From within the swirling earth, several stone spikes shot out in rapid succession. Each was as thick as an arm, its tip honed to a razor's edge. Combined with their terrifying force, they would surely pierce straight through anyone they struck.
If the Poisonous Insect Guardian had been standing still just now and failed to anticipate the danger, he would have been swept into the vortex of soil and impaled by those stone spikes.
Even so, the attack had given him quite a scare. Fortunately, he had wings on his back and had shot high enough to escape the ground, rising more than ten meters before the waves of soil could reach him.
He had only barely dodged the vicious stone spikes by twisting and maneuvering through the air. It had been a close call.
The Poisonous Insect Guardian was furious.
In the earlier battle, he had nearly overwhelmed everyone single-handedly, and everything had gone smoothly. Without realizing it, he had started looking down on this base, and his confidence had gotten the better of him.
He had never expected that one moment of overconfidence would nearly cost him his life. The close call had left him in a cold sweat.
He really couldn't afford to get cocky, even when his opponents seemed several levels beneath him. In the Era of Strangeness, no one could predict what kind of powers people would awaken. If someone found a way to counter you, they could still turn the tables and win.
The Poisonous Insect Guardian circled in the air for a while, watching what was happening below.
He knew the danger hadn't passed.
His spirit insects had just alerted him that several people had
