On the surface, the strike against this infantry brigade could be seen as retaliation by the Underground World, or as a declaration—a signal—from Taiyi Academy and the Treasure Tree Clan to the Underground World.
Strategically, however, it clearly meant much more than that.
For one thing, the infantry brigade they had attacked was stationed several hundred miles from Taiyi Academy's outpost. It wasn't in a key location, nor did it pose any threat.
From a tactical perspective, the attack had been strange in both its choice of target and the size of the force deployed.
And yet, the Underground Race had done it anyway.
Most people might have thought the Underground Race simply never played by the rules, or that they had picked an easy target. But to Jiang Yue, who knew the Underground World well, it was certainly not that simple.
The Underground Race had to have another reason, another plan.
Jiang Yue suspected that, aside from seeking revenge, they had mainly wanted to distract Eagle Country and lead it to the wrong conclusion. Eagle Country would think they were preparing to launch an all-out offensive, when in fact they were using the attack as cover to build a teleportation hub.
He was fairly certain of that.
There was still one thing he couldn't understand, though. If the Underground Race had only wanted to distract Eagle Country, why had they chosen this location and attacked the troops stationed here?
After all, this base wasn't a strategic stronghold, and judging by the surface conditions, it wasn't an important Eagle Country outpost either.
Before long, though, Jiang Yue noticed something.
