The Terrifying Strike

Fortunately, this giant arrow clearly wasn't as nimble as the bows and arrows formed from the smaller plants. It seemed that getting it ready to fire took considerable effort.

The arrow hovered on the drawn bow, its tip trained on Jiang Yue from afar, but it didn't fire immediately. It was unclear what it was building up to.

As Jiang Yue wondered what was going on, he faintly felt the ground beneath his feet trembling.

Almost as soon as Jiang Yue reacted, countless vines burst out from all around him like dragons surging from the sea. Layer upon layer of them blocked off several directions to his left, right, and rear, forming a formation that surrounded him on three sides while leaving one way out.

And the one opening left for Jiang Yue was precisely the direction the giant arrow was aimed.

In that instant, Jiang Yue understood everything.

So the giant arrow had fixed its aim on him from afar to distract him and keep his attention on it.

That gave the vines beneath the ground a chance to creep closer while his attention was divided.

In other words, he hadn't been given any time to react.

By the time he realized what was happening, the vines had already broken through the ground.

Jiang Yue swept his gaze around. Thousands upon thousands of vines surrounded three sides, forming at least seven or eight layers. Every vine spread wildly, reaching more than ten meters into the air as they writhed menacingly, their presence imposing.

The vines clearly weren't meant to attack Jiang Yue. Zhu Yindong probably knew that the precious vines wouldn't be able to do much damage to him on their own.

The real killing blow was the giant arrow.
