The six spiders led the way, quickly taking up advantageous positions.
They spewed out large amounts of webbing, sealing off passageways throughout the area. It was clear they intended to divide up the mall, confining the humans inside to one fixed area and preventing them from running around.
The mall was large, and the six spiders moved quietly, but as they continued to close off the space, they eventually alerted the nervous team members.
These team members had already received treatment. The other three who had yet to be treated had been pushed into a separate corner.
Neither group was stupid, though. As the spiders kept closing in on their areas, they eventually heard some strange noises.
The two groups looked around in alarm, and someone immediately spotted a massive spider almost right under their noses.
The sight terrified them out of their wits. They shrieked in panic and fled in a desperate scramble.
The entire mall descended into chaos.
"Monsters! Monsters!"
"Help! That spider's huge! Help!"
"What are those people from the Operations Department doing? The monsters have made it inside the mall, and they still haven't noticed?"
"I knew we couldn't count on them! We're done for!"
"Downstairs! Get downstairs!"
They screamed and complained as they fled for their lives.
Before long, they had made it to the third floor. They knew Jiang Yue was there.
Whatever condition Jiang Yue was in, they felt he had a duty to protect them. He was the only one capable of doing so.
"Jiang Yue! The monsters are here!"
"They came in from the roof! Help!"
They had been in awe of Jiang Yue before and hadn't dared disturb him.
But now the monsters were right beside them, and their lives were at stake. Who cared if they offended Jiang Yue?
