The diary was in Jiang Yue's hands, and he hesitated.
The clasp would open with the slightest nudge.
But should he open it or not?
What if it contained some of his father's private thoughts? As his child, wouldn't it be inappropriate to pry?
Then again, Jiang Yue reconsidered. Wasn't ignoring his parents a far greater betrayal than prying into some potentially private matters?
What if his father had left some clues in the diary?
If Jiang Yue missed them because he couldn't make up his mind, and that caused him to miss his chance to find his parents, wouldn't he regret it for the rest of his life?
With that thought, Jiang Yue stopped hesitating. He gritted his teeth, undid the clasp, and opened the diary.
The first page was dated to a day ten years ago.
Jiang Yue did a quick calculation and realized it was the third day after his mother had gone missing.
After three days to collect himself, his father had begun keeping a diary, having calmed down somewhat from his panic and grief.
The first entry clearly revealed his father's turmoil and pain.
It also mentioned that his mother had been terribly busy with work around that time, and that his father had already had a bad feeling about it.
They had even talked about the matter. His mother hadn't taken it too seriously at the time, thinking his father was worrying too much.
Of course, the diary showed that his parents' relationship had been very strong. His mother had also expressed some regret to his father.
Because of how busy her career kept her, his father had taken on much of the work of caring for the family and the children.
The first entry was rather disjointed, showing how unsettled his father had
