"I'm not Qian Li."
Chen Lin took a look, then handed the Demonic Fetus back to Fairy Zixia.
Then he added, "But I'm curious. Why has this Demonic Fetus survived so long since you gave birth to him, without growing at all?"
"Because he formed a connection with this island."
Fairy Zixia cradled the Demonic Fetus, her gaze softening. "This island is a treasure. It seems to have a consciousness of its own. When I gave birth to my child, the island chose him. I don't know anything beyond that."
Having said this,
she looked at Chen Lin.
"Are you truly not Qian Li, my lord, or are you simply unwilling to acknowledge us as your wife and son? Our child may be a little unusual, but he is still your flesh and blood, no matter what. I hope you can take him away and let him grow."
Chen Lin shook his head.
"I'm truly not Qian Li, but I can send him a message and tell him about this. Whether he'll come, though, I can't say."
"All right."
"All seven Demonic Beads have now been destroyed. There isn't much danger left on the island, so stay here and focus on your cultivation."
Chen Lin ended the conversation.
He also abandoned any thought of killing her to seal her lips.
Since this was Qian Li's child, he would leave the matter for Qian Li to resolve. It wasn't his place to interfere too much.
Leaving the Cold Pool,
Chen Lin made a circuit of the island, but sensed none of the "consciousness" Fairy Zixia had mentioned. His current Chiyuan Body wasn't suited to that sort of thing, so he didn't investigate further.
Nor did he delve into whether the island was a treasure.
Even if it was a high-dimensional treasure,
