After speaking, he cast Chen Lin a smug glance.
It was as though he were saying that plenty of people wanted to serve as his generals, and Chen Lin simply failed to appreciate his favor.

He remembered that the mistress of the Hibiscus Pavilion belonged to the Yin-Yang Sect, and was even a full disciple. Why had she joined Lu Ming's service? Had she already left the Yin-Yang Sect?
Still, he did not ask.
He merely smiled and cupped his hands. "Greetings, General Yuan."
Yuan Nianzhen nodded in acknowledgment.
Lu Ming immediately pointed to another young man dressed in white. "This is the Jade-Faced Sword Guest, Xiahou Shenyu, from the Xiahou family of Wudaopo. He is now my third general."
Chen Lin cupped his hands again.
He silently reflected that the Star Ruins were not all that large, since he could actually encounter someone from the Xiahou family here. He wondered whether the man knew about his feud with Xiahou Ling.
Xiahou Shenyu likewise gave a slight nod.
He seemed not to know Chen Lin.
