The prompt sound puzzled Chen Lin.
Wasn't the Heavenly Dao unable to reach the Abandoned Land? How could I receive tasks here? This doesn't make sense.
And this voice was different from the previous one.
As he pondered this,
the prompt sound continued.
Task One: Obtain an Exquisite Treasure Chest bearing a star mark. Task Two: Kill at least one Punishment Monarch who possesses a Punishment Weapon. The number killed will grant bonuses to your rating. Task Three: Find this item.
Along with the prompt sound, a familiar image of a Rubik's Cube appeared in Chen Lin's mind, identical to the image shown in the previous task.
This further confirmed that the two sets of tasks had not been issued by the same Heavenly Dao. Otherwise, it would not have issued duplicate tasks.
Task Four: Be the first to beat the Ascension Drum, using this drumbeat.
A highly rhythmic drumbeat sounded.
Chen Lin did not understand what it meant, either. He could only silently commit it to memory.
Whatever the origin of this prompt sound, since it could appear directly in his mind, he had to treat it with caution.
In truth, he did not need to make any deliberate effort to remember it. Both the Rubik's Cube image and the drumbeat were engraved in his memory as though imparted through divine empowerment. He could not forget them even if he wanted to.
Task Five: Obtain one of the nine central Heavenly Monarch Seats.
After announcing five tasks in succession, the voice fell silent, leaving Chen Lin utterly bewildered.

the one issuing these tasks was not the Heavenly Dao.
