Chen Lin looked at the flower on the fishing platform, intending to examine it, but before he could move, it shone with a tri-colored glow and transformed into a woman with skin like creamy jade.
"Greetings, Master!"
Unlike Grass back then, the woman showed no panic. She rose calmly and offered a poised greeting.
Chen Lin stared at her in astonishment, his jaw hanging open for a moment.
Her appearance was truly striking!
A pair of pure white wings folded against her smooth back, while two small, dark red horns sprouted from her head. Between her brows was a lifelike motif of a flower with only three petals, radiating tri-colored light.
She possessed a contradictory beauty, at once holy and uncanny.
Suppressing his surprise, he turned to gather some long grass from the mountainside, wove it into a simple covering, and had her put it on.
"What is your name?"
He looked her over again.
She was tall and beautiful, with exaggerated curves in all the defining places. She certainly qualified as an exotic beauty.
Yet he could not feel pleased.
With an appearance like hers, taking her outside would draw far too much attention. That did not suit his low-key style.
Moreover, she gave off no energy fluctuations. However he looked at her, she showed no sign of being powerful. He needed a helper, not a beauty.
"I have no name. Please bestow one upon me, Master."
The woman spoke respectfully, stealing a glance at Chen Lin.
Chen Lin sighed inwardly. "Then you shall be called Hua Ruyu, to mark that you came from Wanhuagu Valley."
He had already fished her out. He could hardly put her back, so he could only keep her with him.
"Thank you, Master!"
Hua Ruyu bowed again, then stood respectfully behind Chen Lin.
