Chen Lin looked at the figure that had suddenly appeared before him and forced himself to remain calm.
The stranger looked like a man, with copper coins hanging all over his towering body. He gazed down at Chen Lin from above, while Chen Lin could not move a muscle, like a lamb awaiting slaughter.
"I am a traveling merchant. It is a pleasure to meet you!"
This took Chen Lin by surprise. He had only asked casually, never expecting such a coherent reply. Like the little girl Niuniu, this seemed to be a native of the Nightmare Realm with an independent consciousness.
In his current situation, being able to communicate was better than not.
Chen Lin's thoughts raced. He forced out a smile and said, "It is a pleasure to meet you as well. May I ask what you want with me?"
After asking, he glanced around.
There was no scenario here, only a stretch of dim wilderness.
This meant there was nothing wrong with the node True Lord Wanmeng had given him. This place had indeed been safe originally; he had simply been unlucky enough to arrive just as a Nightmare Realm creature was passing through.
"I did not seek you out. I saved you. Had I not helped guide the thunderbolt energy to destroy your inner demon, you would probably be dead by now."
The Copper Coin Man's words stunned Chen Lin.
He had thought the tribulation lightning had destroyed his inner demon naturally. Had this stranger actually guided it?
Whether the stranger was telling the truth or not, Chen Lin could not contradict him now. He adopted a grateful expression and said, "Then I truly must thank you. I am deeply grateful."
