Finally, he stood beside the well and looked toward the wilderness in the direction opposite the node. After a moment's hesitation, he put away the Foundation Establishment Puppet, took out the Crow Puppet, fitted it with the Xianji Stone, and sent it out to investigate.
Previously, he had only explored as far as this well. Now he wanted to venture farther and see whether any other scenarios existed.
But the Crow Puppet had flown less than fifty meters when it seemed to strike something and was bounced back.
Chen Lin froze. He spent a long while looking through the puppet's eyes but found nothing.

This time, a thoughtful look crossed his face. After trying several more spots and still failing to break through the barrier, he confirmed that he had reached the edge of his permitted range.

Sure enough, when he tied the Road Guide to the Crow Puppet and tried again, the layer of formless barrier vanished, allowing it to fly out smoothly.
But after circling around, he found nothing but barren land in the distance.
