Written by Nian Qing.
At the bottom of the book's back cover, three tiny characters stood in a neat row.
Years of wear had blurred the writing somewhat, but it was still legible. Chen Lin could even sense a trace of Buddhist power from it.
Nian Qing's face from the Demon-Suppressing Temple in the Nightmare Realm surfaced in his mind, leaving him utterly bewildered.
From the information he had gathered before, the Nian Kongs in the Lower Realm were all clones of a mighty Buddhist cultivator, hiding in various places to escape a Celestial Demon's pursuit. Nian Qing and the others, however, should have been monks recruited after that cultivator established the Demon-Suppressing Temple on Cangyun Mountain. The one in the Nightmare Realm was merely a projection.
That was what he had always believed.
But now, it seemed all his previous assumptions had been wrong.
Since a work written by Nian Qing had survived here, and the condition of the text suggested it was at least several thousand years old, that meant Nian Qing was also someone from the Upper Realm.
Following that reasoning, the monks in the Seven Buddha Painting should all have come from this Upper Realm. Exactly why they had descended to the Lower Realm, and why they had appeared in that tiny place called the Tianyuan Continent, probably had something to do with the Celestial Demon's remnant thought.
At this thought, Chen Lin recalled what Nian Kong's clone had told him in the Demon-Suppressing Temple inside the secret realm.
The clone had said he had nine clones scattered throughout the Heavens and Myriad Realms, and asked Chen Lin to deliver the Kashaya to one that had not undergone demonization. He had also said there was no need to search deliberately; if fate allowed, they would meet.
