All three flew backward, and Chen Lin even took out the Xuantian Seal.
The shadow that had entered reacted in the same way. Upon spotting Chen Lin and the other two, it retreated more than a hundred meters in the opposite direction, looking tense.
Yet neither side left the cyan stone street.
The statues outside stretched as far as the eye could see. Anyone with a shred of common sense would avoid touching them.
Once the newcomer steadied himself, Chen Lin realized he was actually a humanoid creature. But humanoid was all he was; he differed considerably from a normal human.
First, he was short, only about three feet tall. His arms, on the other hand, were extraordinarily long, reaching all the way to the ground. If not for his lack of fur, he would have somewhat resembled an ape.
Judging by his face, he was probably middle-aged, and rather handsome at that. His features were sharply defined, with a hint of authority in his brow and eyes.
He held a silver spear.
"Where did you come from, and where are you going?"
After a long wait, the two sides were still staring wide-eyed at one another. Chen Lin's eyes flickered, and he spoke in imitation of a Nightmare Realm creature.
The short man across from them visibly grew even more nervous.
The three on Chen Lin's side really did look far too much like Nightmare Realm creatures. Grass actually was one, while the Hundred Flowers Fairy was a phantom image with a petal resting on her head. Only Chen Lin looked somewhat normal, and he had just asked a baffling question.
Most importantly, all three treated the nightmare qi here as though it did not exist.
"Where did you come from, and where are you going?"
