Zhongli accepted leadership of the Innate Sect and guided its members as their influence and strength grew, while its young disciples prepared to enter the tournament. The stretch ended with Zhongli sensing that Chiyu and the others had run into trouble.

• Du Bafang and more than a thousand Innate Martial Soul masters founded the Innate Sect and set out to welcome Zhongli, who later confirmed Ghostly could undergo a second awakening and advised him on how to attempt it.
• Bibi Dong offered Spirit Hall’s support for schooling children without Soul Power, while Qian Renxue revealed her strained relationship with her mother and resolved to prove herself to Zhongli.
• Three thousand Innate Soul Masters asked Zhongli to lead them, and he agreed under strict rules before naming Du Bafang acting sect master and helping him become a Titled Douluo.
• Ning Fengzhi offered the Innate Sect an unexpectedly large share of profits from their products, and Du Bafang later won Zhongli’s approval to enter the tournament with the sect’s younger generation.
• At Shrek Academy, Zhu Zhuqing revealed that Tang San was likely Tang Hao’s son, while Zhongli arranged tournament places for Innate Sect disciples at Heaven Dou Royal Academy.
• Du Bafang killed two Soul Sage spies who had been watching the Innate Sect, and the sect’s disciples trained until more than thirty completed their second awakenings.
• Spirit Hall began paying the Innate Sect’s disciples subsidies after Zhang Hu’s arrival, while Bibi Dong discovered evidence that Yu Xiaogang had copied theoretical knowledge.
• Zhongli took Chiyu and the young disciples to a pleasure house, then sensed trouble as he and Paimon reached Zhongli Manor.

Zhongli helped Du Siji overcome the violent effects of his Second Awakening, reach Silver Rank, and gain a powerful soul ring and two Soul Bones. As the tournament approached, the Innate Sect’s harsh conduct alarmed other factions, while Zhongli and Paimon prepared to attend the finals in Spirit City.

• Du Siji defeated Hu Yan Li and the Elephant Armored Sect disciples, then Zhongli took him to Moonlight Pavilion to address the violence triggered by his awakening.
• Zhongli’s performance moved Moonlight Pavilion’s students, and his encouragement helped Du Siji break through his mental shackles and advance to Silver Rank.
• Zhongli took Du Siji to Sunset Forest, where Du Siji killed a thirty-thousand-year Dark Gold Claw Bear and gained its Soul Ring and both claw Soul Bones.
• Zhongli ordered the Innate Sect to study the Analects, but Du Bafang and the disciples interpreted its teachings through their own aggressive rules and training.
• “Xue Qinghe” asked Zhongli about Du Bafang’s strength, and Zhongli confirmed that the Innate Sect’s acting sect master was a Titled Douluo.
• Yuan Batian’s group punished a band of students who had tried to swindle Old Fifth, crippling their captain and warning others not to oppose the Innate Sect.
• Tang San witnessed the Innate Sect’s punishment and vowed to destroy it, while other factions warned their people to avoid provoking the sect.
• “Xue Qinghe” invited Zhongli to judge the tournament and revealed that the finals would be held in Spirit City, where Qian Daoliu wanted to meet him.

Zhongli’s soul-bone prize drew the tournament teams into fierce competition, but Shrek’s first match against Heaven Dou Royal Academy ended in defeat and public disgrace. The arena dispute exposed Yu Xiaogang’s plagiarism and deceptions, and Bibi Dong arrived to claim the right to punish him.

• Zhongli gave the preliminary-round winner a five-thousand-six-hundred-year strength-type left leg Soul Bone, then drew the opening match between Heaven Dou Royal Academy and Shrek Academy.
• Dugu Yan revealed her evolved martial soul and Soul King strength, used Medusa’s Gaze to petrify most of Shrek’s team, and helped Heaven Dou Royal Academy defeat Shrek.
• Yu Feng publicly accused Qin Ming and Shrek of dishonorable conduct, and Meng Shenji forced Qin Ming to his knees before Yu Xiaogang intervened.
• Meng Shenji and Du Bafang accused Yu Xiaogang of publishing Zhongli’s research without credit, and Du Bafang attacked him while Liu Erlong and Flender tried to respond.
• Yu Tianheng disowned Yu Xiaogang, and Yu Xiaogang admitted that Bibi Dong had given him Spirit Hall’s knowledge and that he had pursued Liu Erlong for her Martial Soul Fusion Skill.
• Flender asked Du Bafang to let him kill Yu Xiaogang, while Bibi Dong appeared and identified herself as another victim of Yu Xiaogang’s deception.
• Zhongli said Yu Xiaogang deserved punishment for claiming others’ knowledge as his own but left his fate to Bibi Dong, Flender, and Liu Erlong, and Bibi Dong proposed making him wish he were dead.

Bibi Dong punished Yu Xiaogang, and Tang San learned more about his Blue Silver Emperor heritage before Qin Ming was killed in an attack on Shrek Academy. Tang Hao intervened, killed Tai Tan, and fought Du Bafang until Zhongli shielded Du Bafang and Tang Hao fled with Tang San.

• Bibi Dong severed Yu Xiaogang’s limbs, stripped him of his status and martial soul, and ordered his theories’ stolen credit restored.
• Tang San denounced Yu Xiaogang before the crowd, and Zhongli explained that Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass was an unawakened Blue Silver Emperor inherited from Ah Yin.
• Bibi Dong met Zhongli at the Seven Treasure Hotel and offered to help find a suitable Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast for Paimon, then left to address the fallout from Yu Xiaogang’s publications.
• Xue Ye’s forces and Heaven Dou Royal Academy attacked Shrek Academy to kill Qin Ming, while Spirit Hall withdrew and Zhongli watched from afar.
• Tang San’s Godly Zhuge Crossbows failed to stop the attackers, Qin Ming died, and Liu Erlong, Flender, and Zhao Wuji were badly wounded before Tang Hao appeared.
• Tang Hao attacked Meng Shenji, but Du Bafang stopped his hammer and challenged his reliance on the Clear Sky Sect’s inheritance and the Blue Silver Emperor’s Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring.
• Tang Hao killed Tai Tan, then fought Du Bafang with Exploding Ring and was badly injured, and he prepared a final strike after deciding to flee with Tang San.
• Zhongli shielded Du Bafang from Tang Hao’s blood-red attack, Tang Hao fled with Tang San, and Yu Luomian arrived to ask the survivors to let the matter end.
