The ones that crawled over were picked off one by one
until we had cleared them all out.
We killed the Zombies far faster than I had imagined. There were at least eight hundred in that vast space, if not a thousand,
but in barely a minute,
not a single Zombie was left standing. The overpowering stench of blood filled the airless space, making waves of nausea
wash over me.
I raised my gun and finished off a Zombie still crawling through the heap of bodies.
The gunfire gradually died away.
"Rrgh... Rrgh~"
The others relaxed. Wild Wolf glanced at me first, then turned to Wu San.
"Check for stragglers. Fatty Two, take a break and change the ammo belt. Qiao Seven, Buyu, wait here
for the third team."
With that, Wild Wolf headed out.
"Wait. I'm coming too."
I glanced at Wild Wolf and went after him. This chamber clearly wasn't the end of the passage. There had to be
other exits ahead. The breeze was faint,
but I could still feel it carrying the smell of blood. This cavern wasn't completely sealed. Besides, even
if there were no other openings, these
Zombies couldn't have appeared out of nowhere. That made no sense.
There had to be another passage, and those Zombies had probably come through it. Wild
Wolf was likely heading over to take a look.
"You've only got one hand. It'll be difficult."
Wild Wolf looked back at me. He was clearly at home in this blood-soaked place, a fierce
bloodlust in his eyes.
Still, he kept it under control around me. At least his voice remained steady when he spoke to me.
"It's fine. I'm the one who asked you all to come. I can't just sit here and watch you risk your lives. Got it?"
