I had a pretty good idea what those sounds had been, too. The thing underground was probably using the voices of those women as bait to lure
other creatures in.
Whether they were self-proclaimed heroes or wild animals looking to prey on the women, they'd probably all become food for whatever lurked beneath the ground.
That was... ruthless.
With my eyes closed, I couldn't even bear to imagine it. After all, I was a woman now, too... Though some habits from my life as a man before the apocalypse still lingered,
I'd gotten used to this body. If I changed back now, it'd be hard to readjust.
Of course, I'd rather struggle to adjust than be a woman. There were too many drawbacks.
