Background

Tuanzi was initially a black, glutinous-rice-ball-like organism associated with Fang Yuxuan. It displayed intelligence from the outset: it responded to her attention, helped clean up after meals, and could understand simple instructions, though its spoken vocabulary was restricted to variations of “What the f*ck~” 904.

Originally part of Yuxuan's body, Tuanzi functioned as a symbiote derived from a virus. Yuxuan considers herself both its host and its mother figure; Tuanzi trusts her completely and obeys her commands without refusal 1275. Its dependence was dangerous, however: when separated from Yuxuan, its consumption rate rose sharply, creating the risk that it could devour uncontrollably until it exhausted itself or consumed all available life 1216.

After years apart, Tuanzi found Yuxuan again and healed her severe injuries almost instantly by replacing damaged tissue with its own. It could still merge into her body at this stage, reinforcing her bones, repairing organs, creating wings, and retrieving objects with fine tendrils 1195 1196.

Tuanzi was nearly destroyed during the conflict in Changsha, preserving only a fingernail-sized core by hardening its outer body into steel. Yuxuan recovered the core and revived it with her blood 1386 1392 1393. Following this recovery, Tuanzi evolved into an independent creature that could no longer return to her body, but chose to remain at her side 1393.

Yuxuan established two explicit rules after its independence: Tuanzi must not go berserk, or she will eliminate it; and it may not arbitrarily devour living creatures, since Yuxuan will provide its food and nutrition 1393. By its later Lord-level evolution, it had gained far greater restraint over its expansion and devouring rate 1605.

Appearance

Tuanzi has no fixed anatomy and can alter its size, texture, and shape. It is most often seen as a black sphere or mass of fluid with oversized eyes and a soft, childlike demeanor, despite possessing a metallic body and extreme destructive potential 1195 1393.

Personality

Tuanzi is intelligent, emotionally attached to Yuxuan, and strongly protective of her. It reacts with alarm when she is injured and becomes enraged when enemies harm her, though its symbiotic connection previously prevented it from fully losing control in response 1194 1367.

Its behavior is childlike and playful. It seeks praise after displaying a new ability, nuzzles Yuxuan's hand, sulks when scolded, and is reluctant to be separated from her 1216 1393 1615. It can communicate increasingly complex thoughts by forming Chinese characters from its fluid body, but its audible speech remains almost entirely limited to its trademark curse 1195 1393.
