One by one, they all avoided Yuxuan
's gaze.
She looked over the people gathered there. Several wore white coats and looked like researchers. She walked up to them
and asked, "Who's in charge here? Tell me, and don't try to lie. I can tell when you're lying."
The scientists in white coats exchanged glances. One elderly white man with a drawn face stood up, looked at
Yuxuan, then pointed toward the entrance.
"Owen is downstairs."
"Oh? His name's Owen?"
The old man nodded. He glanced at Fang Yuxuan, looking frightened, then hesitated before working up the courage to ask,
"Are you... Experimental Subject No. 383
?"
"No. My name is Fang Yuxuan."
Yuxuan spoke calmly. Ignoring the stunned scientists, she walked into the entrance to the underground laboratory.
It was called an underground laboratory, but judging by the data from Yuxuan's radio-wave sensing, it was considerably larger than the underground
city beneath the Chinese Shelter. It was a proper underground city.
The walls gleamed with metal, giving the place a distinctly high-tech feel. Gentle fluorescent lights shone overhead. The rectangular
corridor alone looked several hundred meters long, and it seemed to lead to every part of the laboratory.
Yuxuan was in no hurry. Tuanzi had already enveloped the entire underground city. No matter how large it was, to Tuanzi, who could devour
Earth, it was nothing.
She walked deeper inside. Through her radio-wave sensing, she could tell that many people in the vast underground research city were panicking
and trying to escape, terrified. A few, however, showed no fear. The calmest of them sat alone in a room
at the very bottom of the city.
That must be Owen, the man that scientist mentioned.
With that thought, Yuxuan headed over. She said nothing more, and no one dared stop
