Another hour passed, and Klein finally couldn't wait any longer.
He couldn't keep scaring himself like this, wasting his energy for nothing. Rather than sitting here and waiting, he might as well investigate...
Klein looked at the four walls of the Water Dungeon. Their vast surface area, height of at least three stories, and perfectly smooth planes left him with no desire to try jumping or climbing them barehanded.
"Since it's a Water Dungeon, there must be an inlet and an outlet."
Klein hadn't forgotten that he was on a ship. Even as he waited, he could feel the faint but constant rocking beneath his feet. Clearly, the Flying Dutchman was a sufficiently stable and massive vessel.
"Maybe the water in this Water Dungeon comes from seawater used as ballast, or perhaps this is simply where ballast water is stored, and they're using it to imprison me."
With that thought, Klein began feeling around in the water.
Before long, Klein found the locations of two water ports. The bad news was that both were only as wide as a circle formed by the thumb and forefinger—his wrist couldn't even fit through—and neither had anything resembling a stopper.
The actual mechanism controlling the flow of water wasn't here.
His ideas of escaping through the drain or releasing enough water to leave the Water Dungeon had both been far too naive.
That made sense. Even if they didn't understand the Fool pathway, they knew him. They should at least know they were imprisoning an Extraordinary being. It couldn't possibly be that easy to get out.
Thinking that, Klein sighed, glanced helplessly upward, and began taking four steps backward—
There's no way out, I'm at the end of the road... Noah, save me!
"Help! Help!"
As Klein urgently called out, he quickly connected
