Background / History

Tang San originated from another world and retains the cultivation methods and hidden-weapon knowledge of its Tang Sect. He later openly admits that he is not from the Douluo Continent and intends to establish a Tang Sect there. 13 248

His father, Tang Hao, left him in Grandmaster's care after Tang San accepted Grandmaster as his teacher. Grandmaster understood that Tang San's Second Martial Soul had to remain concealed, as its exposure would place Tang San in mortal danger. 9

At Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy, Tang San obtained his first Soul Ring from a Mandala Snake. The ring strengthened his Blue Silver Grass with venomous, paralytic properties. 15

He later joined Shrek Academy and became part of the Shrek Seven Devils. His public image as a dependable teammate contrasted with a ruthless private side: when a Soul Master insulted Xiao Wu, Tang San attempted to murder him to prevent his own identity from being exposed. 42

Personality

Tang San is intensely protective of Xiao Wu and reacts violently to anyone he believes has harmed or insulted her. His willingness to kill the Soul Master who mocked her revealed a side of him that Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong had not previously seen. 42

He can remain composed when facing overwhelming danger. When abducted by Dugu Bo, Tang San calmly explained why the Titled Douluo wanted him dead rather than panicking. 112 He is also resourceful under pressure, escaping Dugu Bo's territory and salvaging what resources remained at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 113

His defeats, losses, and conflicts with Ye Hao increasingly turned his protectiveness into revenge-driven obsession. After learning Xiao Wu had allegedly become Ye Hao's Sixth Soul Ring, he became more aggressive and bloodthirsty, swearing vengeance on Ye Hao, Spirit Hall, and the City of Slaughter. 218

Tang San is proud and deeply sensitive to humiliation. He repeatedly interprets opposition as a personal affront, including during his clashes with the Clear Sky Sect, where resentment over public beatings and ridicule drives him to challenge Tang Yu and later attempt assassination. 235 236 238 242

Abilities & Skills

Blue Silver Grass

Tang San's primary Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass, which he uses for battlefield control, binding, poison delivery, and large-scale area coverage.

  • His first Soul Ring grants Entanglement, producing dense Blue Silver Grass restraints. 42
  • The Mandala Snake ring imbued his grass with a venomous, paralytic toxin. 15
  • His Third Soul Skill, Spider Web Restraint, fires a binding sphere that forms a web around targets. 238
  • He can spread thorn-covered, poisonous Blue Silver Grass across an entire arena and seal escape routes. 192
  • His Seventh Soul Skill, Blue Silver True Body, transforms him into a massive Blue Silver Grass form that generates countless attacking vines. 269
  • The Martial Soul failed to evolve as Tang Hao expected after Ye Hao destroyed the Blue Silver King and surrounding Blue Silver Grass. 163 164

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang San's Second Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, a powerful weapon Martial Soul inherited from Tang Hao.

  • He secretly began adding Soul Rings to the hammer after the failure of his Blue Silver Grass evolution. 164
  • His first hammer ring was a Hundred-Year Thousand Jun Ant ring; the hammer became far heavier after absorption. 164
  • He continued hunting Soul Beasts through the night and accumulated four hammer rings, pushing himself to the brink of explosion. 164 165
  • Tang Hao and Grandmaster had intended for him to fill all nine Blue Silver Grass ring slots before attaching rings to the Clear Sky Hammer. 165
  • He uses Clear Sky Sect techniques, including the Clear Sky Nine Absolutes and Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer-style combat methods. 238 235

Divine Slaughter's Domain

Tang San possesses Divine Slaughter's Domain, acquired after entering the City of Slaughter.

  • It releases tangible killing intent that suppresses the surrounding area. 235
  • The domain significantly increased his combat power but did not resolve his inability to control his killing intent. 219 222
  • Sea Dragon Douluo's Demon-Breaking Domain can dispel it completely. 272

Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect Techniques

Tang San retained methods from the Tang Sect of his former world.

  • The Mysterious Heaven Skill is his cultivation method and was detectable as a faint purple aura during meditation. 13
  • His Purple Demon Eye improves visual perception, though it was rendered ineffective inside Sea Delusion Douluo's illusion domain. 230 270
  • He possesses Tang Sect hidden weapons, including the Godly Zhuge Crossbow, Silent Sleeve Arrow, and Flying Sky Divine Claw. 246
  • He created the poison King of Hell's Sticker, which he used to kill Shi Nian. 118 155

Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud

Tang San owns the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, an artifact with defensive and concealment abilities.

  • Its Vast Sea Protective Barrier is central to his plans for escaping dangerous situations. 242
  • It can conceal his aura from ordinary Titled Douluo, enabling him to evade pursuit. 246
  • He used it to escape when cornered by the Defense Clan and Clear Sky Sect elders. 250
