Doctor Xu
Miss Ma sat down in front of Xu Huo again. Looking a little tired, she said, "Ask whatever you want to know. I'll tell you everything I know."
Xu Huo took out his notebook and pen again. It was the same room and the same table, and he asked the same questions as last time, with a few added about how she'd been feeling over the past few days, such as whether she'd been sleeping well after taking her medication.
Miss Ma grew impatient with the questions. Then she said coldly, "I don't believe you can keep me trapped here forever. The longer this goes on, the more likely it is that Mr. Kang will find out!"
Xu Huo sighed and regretfully closed his notebook. "Unfortunately, your assessment still doesn't meet the requirements for being discharged. I'll see you next time."
Seeing that he was really about to leave, Miss Ma hurriedly asked, "Next time? When will that be?"
"Seven days from now." Xu Huo checked his work schedule. "Next Tuesday."
Miss Ma suddenly turned to look at the calendar beside the bed. There were marks she'd scratched into it with her fingernails, counting from one to seven. Seven days had already passed!
Her expression turned dazed again. Though she'd been asleep for much of the time, she'd also been awake for a good while and could clearly feel time passing. It hadn't seemed as long as the seven days marked on the calendar, but it had still been a while. Why? Why hadn't anyone discovered that Sun Jing was dead and that she was missing?
"This isn't right!" She sprang to her feet. After a moment of panic, she pointed at Xu Huo. "You! You've affected my sense of time! How long has it really been?"
