After the door behind him closed, the passages on either side of Xu Huo turned into rows of playing cards. They unfolded from the passage doors' disguises all the way to the end of the corridors.
At the far end was another giant playing card depicting a Black Throne.
It looked like the dungeon still wasn't over.
Xu Huo strode over and pushed open the card door. A brilliant light flared in front of him, then faded after two or three seconds, revealing three playing cards made of holographic projections, their backs facing him.
"Congratulations on obtaining five black face cards. Every player who obtains at least four face cards of the same color gets one chance to draw a card."
The maze's voice rang out from all directions. "Players may turn over any one of these three cards. There is a one-in-three chance of drawing a face card of the same color."
"What are the other two cards?" Xu Huo looked up and asked.
"Likewise, there is a one-in-three chance that you'll return to the dungeon." The maze replied.
"One face card, one trap card, and the last one should be a neutral card, right?" Xu Huo said, looking at the three cards before him. The maze didn't respond. He then asked if he could skip choosing and clear the dungeon directly, but again got no response.
"Looks like I have to choose." Xu Huo opened his Personal Panel and bought a temporary luck-boosting item. Items like that rarely guaranteed good luck; whether they worked often seemed to depend on their mood, so he picked one of a relatively low level, just for show.
Whether he drew a face card or a trap, he'd have to clear the dungeon again sooner or later. The only thing that mattered was
