But it probably wasn't rain.

The train carriages seemed designed to trip up players, but they certainly weren't so thin that they couldn't keep out the sound of a little rain. It sounded more like something falling onto the train.

Before boarding, Xu Huo had read the passenger guidelines for B-class trains. Their general conditions were much the same as those of other trains, but since B-class instances could cover much greater distances, the routes had to balance speed against safety. On this B-class train, it was clear that speed had won out.

The section of track they reached after nightfall was completely dark, as if the whole train had plunged into some uncanny darkness. There wasn't a single trace of light. The players naturally couldn't see what was happening outside, and to avoid causing trouble, they had to keep the carriage completely dark and refrain from making too much noise.

No one spoke. The players wished they could slow their breathing to a bare minimum.

The pattering continued outside the carriage. It moved toward the front, then toward the back, lingering there a few times before gradually fading away.
