"Forgive me for asking, but was it because of Evolution, or..." Xu Huo couldn't hide his surprise.
Huahan Werner narrowed his eyes. "You could say it was the price I paid for being young and foolish."
He didn't spell it out, but his words seemed to suggest it was because of Evolution.
"Evolution is a good thing," Huahan Werner continued. "Do you know how many Players there are in the entire game world?"
Xu Huo shook his head slightly.
"Too many to count."
"There are fewer than twenty Sub-districts at the E27 Wormhole Point, but as these dozen or so Sub-districts formed, new ones were constantly appearing and disappearing. Every time a Sub-district came into being, the Player population would surge. By now, it's hard to get an accurate count of how many Players there are at the E27 Wormhole Point."
"And that's only one wormhole point."
"Super Evolvers may account for only ten percent of all those Players, perhaps even less. Temporal Evolvers are a minority among Super Evolvers, and even fewer people understand Temporal Evolution. So it's nothing unusual for Evolvers to take a few wrong turns."
"But if you go astray with psychic or spatial Super Evolution, you can still find your way back. Time Evolution is another matter. You might even pay for it with your life."
"Young people shouldn't be so independent. You don't have to figure everything out on your own. There's no shame in asking your elders for advice now and then."
As he spoke, Huahan Werner stretched and patted the tools on the table. "Just look at me. I don't have any promising young people in the family, so all I do every day is tend to flowers, birds, fish, and insects."
"Do you know how to garden?"
