Facing a guest, the butler was remarkably restrained. He smiled as he showed Xu Huo to a guest room, told him to wash up first, then went to find him a set of Huahan Werner's clothes.
"These are formal clothes the master wore when he was young. He never actually wore them, and they're a little different from what's in fashion now. But young people have given this style a new name: retro." As he helped Xu Huo into the jacket, the butler added, "You and the master have similar builds, so it should fit you perfectly."
Xu Huo straightened his collar and looked at himself in the mirror. The suit was dark blue, with black gemstones for buttons—nothing flashy, but clearly made with care.
The butler smiled faintly. "It looks just right."
"Knock, knock, knock." Someone rapped on the door. Then Huahan Werner's voice came from outside. "Are you done yet?"
The smile on the butler's face stiffened at once. He inclined his head to Xu Huo, then went out ahead of him and opened the door. Lowering his voice, he said, "Sir, please don't embarrass yourself in front of our guest again!"
"All right, all right, I'll remember." Then came the sound of him going downstairs.
The butler opened the door again, his usual cold expression restored, and invited Xu Huo downstairs for dinner.
Dinner was lavish. The three-meter dining table where the two men sat was almost completely covered with dishes. Huahan Werner was already seated upright at the table. He waited until Xu Huo sat across from him before saying, "Give them a try. They're all the butler's specialties."
The dishes were all unfamiliar to Xu Huo, but they tasted pretty good.
Huahan Werner had wanted to have a little wine, but the butler stopped him.
