The cat in the painting didn't match the size of the middle-aged man or the wounds on the dead player at all. It could only be an item.
There was nothing to question about that. More people were wondering about something else: was the black cat item actually the painted woman's?
If it was hers, then judging by what had happened to the three players, the black cat was definitely no weak item. And a player who owned an item like that couldn't be weak, either.
If it wasn't hers, that meant the Castle wasn't absolutely safe just because they didn't go looking for trouble. Paintings could turn into items. Who knew what else might turn into one?
Still, no one dared question her to her face. Only Fluorescent Powder went up to the painted woman and said, "You're amazing, big sister. You even beat a ferocious beast item."
The painted woman smiled, looking a little pleased with herself, but she still modestly replied through her Communicator, "I'm really not that amazing."
"How could you say that? I could tell yesterday that you were much stronger than me..." As she spoke, Fluorescent Powder took the initiative, linking arms with the painted woman and leading her toward the dining room. "What would you like to eat, big sister? I'll get it for you."
Only after they had left did the long-clothed man ask the high-ponytail woman and the middle-aged man, "Was it really a black cat you saw?"
The high-ponytail woman stayed silent. But when the middle-aged man met the other man's eyes, he hesitated, then described what had happened. "It was definitely a black cat. And when I came back, I saw that woman injure its front paw."
"Thank you." The long-clothed man nodded.
Everyone returned to the dining room
