Xu Huo took the timing device and adjusted the clocks on several dials to 9:17. Then he removed the lower parts of the dials, disabling their timekeeping functions.
That still wasn't safe enough. He wrote several notes that said "Third day since entering the Dungeon." He wrapped one around the hilt of his black knife and put it in his item slot, stuck one to the Cube Space and put it in the Storage Compartment, and placed a third in the empty newspaper kiosk. He took a photo with his Communicator, then gave the last two notes to Wang Ling and the sweet girl to keep.
"This... doesn't seem very useful," Wang Ling said, taking the note. "If this Dungeon can reset time, these little markers might not work at all. If it can't, then even if our perception is off, the supplies we've stored and the food we've eaten won't just reappear. We'll know something's wrong with time then."
Xu Huo used an item to carve "Third day since entering the Dungeon" into the ground in front of the Time Tower's main entrance as well.
"There's no harm in trying," he said.
Wang Ling pocketed the note, but didn't carve anything into the ground. Instead, he used an item to cut the nearby city sculpture in half and said, "Someone could fake carved words. I'll definitely recognize my own handiwork."
The sweet girl left a mark in her own way, too.
