He hadn't finished speaking when several employees wearing shark masks suddenly appeared ahead. They locked onto the two of them and charged over, simultaneously trying to seal off the corridor with a device.
Unfortunately, they couldn't cut off the connection to the game here. With their items still usable, there were plenty of ways to break through the barrier. But with pursuers behind them, they had no time to open a new room, so they could only keep moving along the corridors and stairs.
They were clearly being chased by more than one group. They hadn't gone far before two groups approaching from different directions blocked their way, forcing them to head upstairs.
Running made it hard to type, but the painted woman still seized every opportunity to figure out how they'd been discovered. Fish Banquet would never answer her, so she could only ask Xu Huo.

Xu Huo stabbed through the barrier ahead with his knife, opened his Spiritual World and sent two approaching Players packing, then used his Manifestation to drive back three more who came after them. He successfully brought the painted woman to the fifty-sixth floor.
There were still just as many Players chasing them. As they went upstairs, though, they happened to encounter someone opening a room door to leave. The door stood open, so the room was clearly safe. Seeing them approach from a distance, the Player who'd been about to come out retreated inside but left the door open.
