But even after a full ten minutes, the passages ahead, behind, and to either side were still the same. They wound underground like snakes, branching in every direction and intersecting with one another. No matter which way they went, the passages seemed to have no end.

"We're already a long way from the sinkhole," Uncle Qiao reminded Unpolished Jade.

If this wasn't the entrance to an underground ruin, there was no reason for so many passages to exist. They were most likely dug out by Mutant Animals. Yet they had been walking for so long without encountering any, and hadn't seen anything resembling shed snake skins or scales. That wasn't a good sign.

Creatures that had survived underground for so long generally didn't all die off at once. It was more likely they'd gone into hiding or been driven away. What could drive away creatures that were practically rulers of the underground? Perhaps it was connected to why the Dungeon had been upgraded to A-class.

"We're out of range of the locator." Unpolished Jade closed her eyes briefly. Whether or not this was an underground ruin, they were already far from the location her aunt had left behind.

"Don't the people from A-class wormhole points have special chips implanted in their bodies?" Xu Huo asked. "Even if they're damaged and can't pinpoint a location, the material they're made from shouldn't just disappear. Could a detector find them?"
