"Some people just aren't right in the head." Xu Huo raised his glass to him.

Tang Xu smiled. After draining his glass, he continued, "Still, some local officials in Zone 003 have already issued bans. That's progress, at least. Let's not talk about anything unpleasant. We're here in Liujin City."

Xu Huo turned to look ahead. The aircraft's front window became transparent, revealing a massive city of metal beneath the bright sunlight. It was shaped like an eggshell split in half.

One half of the eggshell rested on the desert, its base sunk into the sand. The other half floated high in the air, with buildings on both its upper and lower surfaces. Their jagged edges faced each other. The two halves were currently separated, but it looked as though the whole eggshell could close up into one.

From a distance, they could see the buildings inside the city. It was quite large, and an outer barrier surrounded it. The sunlight was so intense that the barrier appeared distorted, but they could still make out swaths of greenery within. The people walking around looked fresh and dry, and few wore any kind of sun protection.

The aircraft lined up and entered through a tunnel beneath the eggshell's jagged edge. The outer hatch closed before the inner one opened. Passing through this buffer tunnel allowed the aircraft to enter Liujin City without disturbing the protective barrier.

"Liujin City is huge." Xu Huo looked up at the upper half of the eggshell. It was about the same size as the lower half, but its buildings hung upside down. There were noticeably fewer people up there, and while a few public walkways were available, they were scarce and mostly transparent. From below, they could see people's feet overhead.
