A Chaotic Night
Xu Huo hadn't gone far. He was right by the underground parking garage exit. He sliced a driverless car that came careening out of control toward him in half, then kicked a Player who had been sent flying toward the garage back out. After that, he hauled over a broken streetlamp from nearby, wedged it across the entrance, and put up a sign that read, "Please Do Not Enter."
Not only the passenger, but also several Players still facing off nearby had seen what he did. One of them immediately sneered, "I thought you were some big shot. You think you can just say no one's allowed in?"
Xu Huo said nothing. He simply made a "please" gesture.
He stood behind the streetlamp, as if he didn't realize he was provoking them. His expression didn't change, and he showed not the slightest hint of fear.
The Player laughed in anger. "If I didn't have things to do right now, I'd teach you a thing or two about getting beaten down by society!"
Xu Huo turned and walked away.
The Player's opponent mocked him without holding back. "Look at you. Anyone can tell you're a useless coward, even if they don't fight you!"
The Player clearly couldn't take the bait. He broke away from the group and charged toward the underground garage. But the moment he reached the streetlamp lying across the entrance, he stopped abruptly, his gaze darkening as he fixed his eyes on Xu Huo, a few meters away.
The sky was dim, and several of the streetlights around them had been removed, so it was darker outside than inside the garage. That was how it should have been, at least a few minutes earlier, when the two sides had come to blows nearby.
