"No," Xu Huo said calmly. "It's just a false alarm."

"Did you tamper with something?" Kuang Wenjun looked at him in surprise. "Did you already know the live sample was dead?"

"I knew by the time we reached the lounge." Xu Huo glanced at their expressions in the rearview mirror.

"So they were up to no good from the start." Shangguan Xi seemed to realize what had happened, his voice full of anger. "They were trying to lure us out so they could deal with us. Good thing we got away quickly, or they'd have blown us to bits!"

"Could we have gotten caught up in a factional struggle?" Shangguan Xi's eyes widened slightly. "These people don't hesitate to kill their own."

"But those people seemed to obey Gao Xiaoyan," Pan Qiao analyzed. "Besides, there are only a few of us. How much would a fight with us affect Gao Xiaoyan and the others? They wouldn't risk the hard-won Training Base over a factional struggle. A third party is more likely
