"Bastard!" Minister Fan slammed the table furiously. "Those damned bastards don't do a single decent thing all day!"
"Country Y is in dire straits. Of course they don't want us to transition smoothly. Besides, a new energy overlap zone has appeared. Their high-level item must have been obtained through an exchange, right? Who wouldn't be jealous after seeing it?" Team Leader Chang said coldly. "Invasion and plunder are in their blood, passed down from their ancestors. It'd be strange if they didn't cause trouble."
"Find them immediately!" Minister Fan ordered. "At any cost!"
"They have a high-level item. I'm afraid they won't be easy to deal with." Team Leader Wu spoke into the phone. "Can we persuade Lichun to help?"
"I've already sent people to contact her," Nie Xuan replied. "David Pierce provided some clues, and I've contacted the armed police to search for them. However, the rain has already started. Even if we find them, we won't be able to change the situation for the time being. Preparing for the approaching Alien tide is the key."
"Someone is already handling that. You have only one task: catch the Player in hiding!" Minister Fan said before cutting off the call.
The sound of gunfire and artillery continued outside. Soon, a soldier walked in. "Minister, the temporary command center can't hold out any longer. We have to prepare to relocate!"
Minister Fan went to the entrance and looked out. All kinds of vehicles had formed a wall around the command center. Special Defense Department members and arriving rescuers held their positions atop the vehicles, their guns hardly ever stopping. The two groups took turns, even saving the time needed to reload. Even so, they were still woefully inadequate against the constantly surging Aliens.
