Xiao Xiao didn't call the mushroom person out for pretending nothing had happened.

He took a tissue and laid it over the mushroom person's head. "Wipe yourself off."

The little monster had just plunged headfirst into the bottle cap. Though there wasn't much water left in it, some had still gotten on its head and body.

Then he walked over to the balcony, slid open the glass door, and let in a rush of icy air along with soft, frigid snowflakes.

He turned to the mushroom person, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. "Look, it's snowing."

"You woke up at just the right time."

"You've caught the first snowfall of the year."

The mushroom person tugged the tissue off and wiped itself haphazardly a few times. Hearing the human's words, it yanked the tissue from its body and took several steps forward without thinking.

It stopped only when it reached the edge of the table.

It gazed up at the snow falling thickly beyond the balcony, its expression dazed.

It was snowing.

A snowflake drifted into the room and floated down toward the mushroom person.

The little monster couldn't help reaching out toward it.

Still some distance away, it instinctively took a step forward, forgetting that it was already at the edge of the table.

The next instant, it stepped into empty air.

The mushroom person had no time to react. It pitched forward and fell.

Mushroom person:?!

But the pain it expected never came.

It paused, looked at the place where it had fallen, then slowly clambered to its feet.

The mushroom person looked up and saw someone it hadn't been surprised to see.

It was that human, just as expected.

He had caught it again.

He had saved it once more.

"...Gugu~"

It murmured its thanks.
