The next second, the old woman froze.

After all, a broken window was impossible to miss.

"This, this..."

The old woman's eyes widened. "How did the window break?"

"Zhou Zhou."

Old Zhou's expression darkened. "Did you smash it?"

His son had been in a temper lately, and it was entirely possible he'd carelessly thrown something and accidentally hit the window.

He rubbed his forehead.

He'd thought his son's emotions had finally stabilized.

Why was he throwing things again?

Was he still a child?

Whenever things didn't go his way, he threw a tantrum.

Couldn't he act like an adult?

Hearing the familiar voice, Zhou Mingbao whipped around.

He was already close to the edge of the bed, and the sudden movement made him tip sideways, about to fall to the floor.

"Zhou Zhou!"

The old woman was horrified.

"Careful!"

Old Zhou rushed forward and grabbed Zhou Mingbao by the arm.

Zhou Mingbao grabbed the bed rail himself and finally steadied his body before he could fall.

"Zhou Zhou, are you all right?"

The old woman let out a sigh of relief and hurried over.

She examined her son from head to toe, her face full of worry. "Did you strain your leg?"

"Does it hurt?"

"You're so careless!" Old Zhou scolded.

He helped his son lie back down in the middle of the hospital bed.

"You're a grown man!"

"Can't you do things more carefully?"

Zhou Mingbao leaned against the raised back of the bed.

"I didn't smash it."

He was answering Old Zhou's earlier question.

"You didn't smash it?"

To be honest, Old Zhou was a little skeptical.

"If you didn't smash it, how did the perfectly good glass break?"

The old woman also looked puzzled.

That was true. She'd closed the window herself earlier.
