Reiner's Logistics Life

Reiner stood on the deck, looking around. He stomped his foot, and the wooden planks groaned.

"Looks like my life as a quartermaster is about to begin."

He climbed up the rigging to the crow's nest and looked down. Zoro was already sitting on one side of the deck, dozing off against the railing.

Looking up, the entire blue ocean stretched out before him.

He then turned to look at the island, his gaze passing through the forest. He could faintly make out scattered houses in the village.

"What a great view here!" He leaned his hands on the railing, looking down, and chuckled, "I'll take this spot then. You can give me the watch duties from now on!"

"Ah, okay," Luffy replied with a smile.

Reiner jumped down from the crow's nest and opened a large blue backpack.

These were some supplies Kaya had given them. Besides food, the rest were daily necessities and a small amount of medicine.

"They even have shampoo and body wash? Merry is quite thoughtful."

After organizing and counting the items, Reiner began to explore the Going Merry.

The hidden doors on the deck and mast opened, revealing the men's quarters below, with two sofas and a few hammocks in the corner.

"Completely exposed, huh."

Reiner sighed, looking at the simple quarters.

The cabin at the bow of the ship was where the cannons and cannonballs were stored.

Two levels of cabins sat on the deck. The first floor was the warehouse, with several cannons installed on either side. Reiner placed some supplies there.

The women's quarters were below the warehouse. Reiner took a quick glance. The interior was clearly much more luxurious than the men's quarters, with sofas, tables, bookshelves, wardrobes, and even a bar counter!

He went outside onto the deck. On either side were stairs leading to the second floor, which was the main living area, consisting of the kitchen, dining room, meeting room, and so on.

After exploring for a while, Reiner directly summoned a few skeletons to sort and place the supplies.

"Not bad, Reiner."

Nami walked onto the ship, smiling as she looked at Reiner, who was standing outside on the second floor, leaning against the railing. "Your ability can actually be used for this kind of work. Looks like things will be much easier from now on."

"It's nothing. I'll have them clean everything inside and out later," Reiner said with a wave and a smile.

Although the combat Undead were currently only those molded from Luffy, Zoro, and Kuro's templates, he still had many miscellaneous minions, including Morgan.

These could all be used for odd jobs, and he didn't feel bad about it at all.

He had molded Kuro's template to resemble Wolverine. Because it was an Undead, it still looked a bit creepy, but at least it had a human form.

In normal combat, fighting some small fry was fine, but when facing somewhat famous enemies, he wouldn't personally get involved.

He wanted to try and distinguish himself from the Undead to the outside world. Before getting top-tier combat Undead in his hands, he needed to hide himself as much as possible.

He wasn't completely without combat ability; after all, with the Devil Fruit's power boost, his physical fitness wasn't bad.

But his strength was only average. Not to mention comparing him to Luffy or Zoro, he couldn't even beat his own Undead.

He had only been here for a year, and no matter how much he trained, the improvement in his strength was ultimately limited.

He wasn't a "Effort-Effort Fruit" user who could defy heaven through sheer effort.

Unless he entered his transformation state and became a Necromancer Lord, but that would be too conspicuous and not conducive to low-profile development in the early stages.

In his transformed state, all his physical attributes would be determined by the strongest corresponding attribute among his Undead.

For example, he could now gain Kuro's speed, Zoro's arm strength, and other attributes would depend on the more balanced overall qualities of Luffy.

To put it bluntly, his strength ultimately depended on the Undead he controlled. Transmigrating didn't bring any other buffs, so becoming invincible just by effort was a pipe dream.

However, his 'cheat', the Devil Fruit, already had a very high upper limit; it just needed time.

As for what Teacher Kai said about Haki transcending everything...

He just listened to it for fun. He himself was a Devil Fruit user, so whoever was stronger had the final say.

Enel even claimed to be a god, but wasn't he still knocked out by Luffy?

By that logic, is it only fate that transcends everything?

In any case, where there's a will, there's a way.

He retracted his thoughts; a cigarette had already burned down to the filter.

Usopp had moved all the supplies onto the ship, so they raised the anchor and prepared to set sail.

"Goodbye everyone, goodbye Usopp."

"Goodbye Kaya, when I come back, I'll tell you an adventure story even more exciting than tall tales."

Usopp waved goodbye to Kaya. Today, he finally took the first step towards becoming a brave warrior of the sea.

Kaya and Merry stood silently on the shore, watching until the small ship disappeared over the horizon.

"Miss Kaya, a few days ago, I heard some things about Usopp from the villagers."

Merry smiled and slowly began, "Before his mother passed, Usopp would constantly run through the village shouting, 'Pirates are coming!', then burst into their home."

"He'd loudly tell his mother that his father had returned to pick them up and wanted to take them out to sea with him."

"Perhaps it was loneliness, but after his mother died, he continued to shout 'Pirates are coming!' in the village every day."

"The villagers said his lies were filled with a strong wish, hoping that one day his father would return for them."

Kaya listened quietly to Merry, looking out at the sea as if lost in thought.

"Merry, I want to study medicine."

"Oh, that's quite a big decision you've suddenly made."

On the Going Merry, a few people were celebrating.

"Let's toast to the Going Merry and Usopp!"

"Cheers—!"

"I see you don't have a pirate flag yet."

Usopp looked up at the empty mast. "A flag is the soul of a pirate crew. Just tell me your ideas; my drawing skills are first-rate!"

"Really?!"

Luffy looked excited. "I didn't realize you had that talent."

"I often painted on the village walls; it's something I've practiced since I was little," Usopp said proudly.

Soon, Reiner brought out a roll of black cloth, a few cans of paint, and some brushes from the storeroom.

Usopp began to draw vibrantly on the black cloth, and in no time, a pirate flag was complete.

It featured a white skull with a yellow straw hat, behind which were a pair of crossed bones.

"Not bad, Usopp."

Reiner took the flag, unable to help but praise him. "I'll hang it up there. You can outline the sails, and I'll control the skeletons to paint it."

"Leave it to me!"

Soon, with Usopp and Reiner working together, the same giant design as the flag was painted on their sails.

The few of them couldn't help but smile at the sight.

The Straw Hat Crew was officially formed.

"Nami, how long until we reach Cocoyasi Village?" Reiner suddenly asked.

Nami replied without hesitation, "Two days. But..."

"I still have to ask again, are you really sure? Although Arlong's bounty is twenty million, I suspect his strength is far greater than that."

"Many Marines have come to take down Arlong in the past, and every single one has failed. He's secretly colluding with a certain branch, suppressing many crimes, so his bounty hasn't increased..."

Upon hearing this, Zoro couldn't help but frown. He used to make a living by hunting bounty heads and had some understanding of the Marines' bounty rules.

Bounties could, to some extent, reflect a person's strength, and twenty million in the East Blue was definitely very high.

Hearing Nami's words, it seemed the opponent's strength was likely far greater than they had imagined.
