Lin Chen returned to Shrek as a soul beast tide threatened the city, then helped repel the beasts and chose to travel in pursuit of godhood. Before leaving, he reunited with friends and began a relationship with Zhang Lexuan.

• Lin Chen killed the Seventh Elder, escaped Feng Ling, and reunited with Zhang Lexuan’s group before a strange fog trapped them in Bright Dou Great Forest.
• Lin Chen fought Zhongli Wu and four Title Douluo, killing two before the survivors escaped to Mingdu, then escorted Zhang Lexuan’s group back to Shrek.
• Lin Chen reached Title Douluo and later Rank 92 while the soul beast tide besieged Shrek City, where he formed a second Soul Core and began forming a third.

Lin Chen left Shrek, traveled through the Heaven Dou Empire, and secretly protected people while working with Hu Hu’s squad. After visiting Taoyuan Village, he learned Old Man Li had little time left, while Huo Yuhao continued fighting the Sun Moon Empire.

• Lin Chen said goodbye to his friends and left Shrek, declaring that he would become Sword Douluo.
• Lin Chen traveled on foot to Faston Town, where officials framed him for murder and sent him with prisoners toward Heaven Dou City.
• Lin Chen secretly helped Xiao Jia escape, then killed Magistrate Li and disguised his death as an Evil Soul Master attack.
• Lin Chen hid his identity while working with Hu Hu’s squad, helping Luo Rong’er obtain a Firebird Soul Ring and fighting dangerous soul beasts.
• The Seventh Prince killed the Fifth Prince and attacked Hu Hu’s squad, so Lin Chen killed the Seventh Prince and helped the injured survivors escape.
• Lin Chen recommended that Hu Hu’s squad leave for the Star Luo Empire, then visited Taoyuan Village and stayed with Uncle Chang and Old Man Li.
• Lin Chen stopped bandits approaching Taoyuan Village, while Bi Ji arranged Soul Spirit contracts for Beibei, Xu Sanshi, and Jiang Nannan.

After reaching Rank 99 and inheriting the Nine Kill Sword, Lin Chen became the target of Tang San and faced attacks from Tang San’s allies. The God of Destruction intervened, and Lin Chen recovered at Shrek before setting out to find the soul bones he still needed.

• Lin Chen mourned Old Man Li and Old Mrs. Shen, then reached Rank 98 and inherited the Nine Kill Sword from his ancestors.
• Lin Chen refined the Space Core to reach Rank 99, then saved the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect and received Chen Xin’s inheritance map.
• Lin Chen fought Tai Tan, Niu Tian, and Di Tian, using his sword techniques and Explode Ring before escaping to the Sun Moon Empire with Qian Renxue.
• Tang San tried to recruit Lin Chen and later sent Tang Hao to kill him, but Lin Chen fatally wounded Tang Hao before Niu Tian and Tai Tan intervened.
• Lin Chen returned to Shrek Academy, told Zhang Lexuan about Tang San’s pursuit, and agreed to co-host the Sea God Fate Matchmaking Conference.
• Tang Hao, Niu Tian, and Tai Tan confronted Lin Chen at Shrek, where Tang Wutong reunited with Huo Yuhao and Lin Chen defeated Niu Tian.

Lin Chen and Zhang Lexuan gathered soul bones and defended themselves against Tang San’s schemes while Zhang Lexuan advanced through the Moon God’s trials. After defeating the Moon Eater Beast, they entered the Star Dou Great Forest, where Gu Yuena demanded the fortune Lin Chen had taken from the auspicious beast.

• Lin Chen and Zhang Lexuan protected the Zhou Family from Huang Kai’s attack, then attended an auction where Lin Chen bought a sealed Dragon Eagle torso bone and absorbed it in Qian Renxue’s Angel Space.
• Zhou Lin gave Lin Chen a seventy-thousand-year right arm soul bone, which Zhang Lexuan absorbed before they were transported to the Moon God Temple.
• Zhang Lexuan accepted Liu Yue’s inheritance, completed the first trial, and continued through the Moon Illusion Realm while Lin Chen stayed in Taoyuan Village and prepared to ascend to godhood.
• The master of Douluo Continent asked Lin Chen to oppose the Asura God King’s agent, and Lin Chen agreed to help in exchange for assistance with his ascension.
• Zhang Lexuan completed the Moon Illusion Realm trial, then she and Lin Chen fought the Moon Eater Beast, whose power Tang San had enhanced, and defeated her by making her divine powers clash.
• Zhang Lexuan passed the fourth trial, absorbed a torso soul bone, and reached Rank 98 before she and Lin Chen set out for the Star Dou Great Forest to find the Three-tailed Illusory Moon Fox.
• Di Tian escorted Lin Chen and Zhang Lexuan to the Lake of Life, where Gu Yuena demanded the fortune Lin Chen had taken from the auspicious beast, but he refused and asked to use the lake instead.
• Lin Chen told Gu Yuena that Huo Yuhao might be able to awaken Wang Qiu'er, so Gu Yuena ordered Di Tian to find Huo Yuhao, while He Caitou’s Soul Engineer corps attacked Oke City.
