Yu Lian and Blackrose had finished their conversation in the instant their psychic powers clashed. At a time like that, their thoughts were conveyed in a way that carried their emotions and intentions perfectly. There was no such thing as sarcasm. So the guy really had been sincerely apologizing.
The Palladians really were an honest and sunny species!
But... he could just say he was sorry and that was that? Yu Lian hadn't expected him to commit seppuku, but couldn't he at least bow or prostrate himself? This was even less sincere than the bowing masters of District 11!
Yu Lian was almost laughing with anger, but this wasn't the time for sarcasm. He asked, "Where are General Griffith and the others? And Major Popas? Have you already killed them?"
"General Griffith did me a kindness. I, Blackrose, know how to repay favors and settle grudges. Even if there's been a misunderstanding, I would never hurt him," Blackrose said. "Don't worry, the general is safe—and better off than before."
As for Jango and Popas, he didn't mention them at all. To this six-ring psychic, an ordinary engineer and a human major were probably just insignificant background characters. He might have already forgotten their names and faces, so there was no reason to bring them up.
Yu Lian had nothing to say. At this point, he could only trust what the other man had told him. Only after dealing with this guy could he find out whether his missing friends were safe.
"To be honest, you and I don't have any personal grudges or conflicting interests. You, on the other hand, have a deep feud with these Imperial Knights. Why don't we work together?" Blackrose continued. "Together, we can wipe them all out here, then pretend none of this ever happened.
