"This isn't about digging in the sand. It's about helping build things!" Simon Wayali corrected him. "Once it's finished, you can go straight into the factory manager's job. That's what Factory Manager Ruhr and Mr. Babaru said, right?"
"I'm not becoming some factory manager. I know I'm not cut out for it! Honestly, I was supposed to go to the Industrial University in New Shuntian for further study. I'd even gotten my admission letter and prepared the tuition. How did I get carried away and end up coming here?" Buska grumbled.
"You're a member of the Youth Club, too. You've got that kind of passion. They said they could build another Red Maple Factory here in New Jade Gate, and you came running. That's why we get along so well," Wayali said with a smile.
"By now, that fellow Babaru should have reached Nefei, right?"
As the former chief engineer of Red Maple Factory, Buska knew perfectly well that he was just an ordinary senior technician. Fortunately, over the past year or so, the Engineers' Hall had opened in Maple City, and quite a few highly qualified technical consultants had joined. Buska liked to spend his time there after work, and he'd learned a lot of real skills.
Buska had originally planned to follow the example of his good friend Babaru of Lumina and pursue a short-term degree at a nearby university. He already knew the ins and outs of metallurgical production, but if he truly wanted to become the official chief engineer of a massive heavy-industry enterprise one day, he still needed further education.
