Lu Yin took a sip of his drink. "Once you reach a certain level, you'll become one of his bodies too. He wants bodies of both sexes, right?"
Bai Qian nodded and reclined as well. "Female bodies are replaced quickly, one every ten thousand years. Male bodies are different; he can use them for a long time. The You Family managed to scheme against Lord Wei because they understood this habit of his. One of the men Lord Wei favored escaped back then, leaving him with an opening. Otherwise, if that body were still around, even the Young Yin Divine Venerable wouldn't be able to do anything to Lord Wei."
Lu Yin was curious. "He actually managed to escape? If you stay here now, wouldn't that count as escaping too?"
Bai Qian shook her head. "Lord Wei left methods of control inside all of us. The moment he confirms we've run away, we'll die."
"That makes more sense," Lu Yin said.
