Many tragedies began with arrogance. Human Civilization was now qualified to talk with any civilization, even a Fishing Civilization.

Compared to talking, he would rather avoid all contact. The only way he intended to interact with the Technology Civilization was by making use of it.
Its strength came from its resources, which meant it was destined to be exploited. That was enough. Beyond that, he wanted no dealings with it.
