Ideals were beautiful, but reality was harsh.
Lynn had no idea that Chrisel, the Succubus Queen, a bewitching beauty who captivated all who saw her, was a devoted romantic.
He knew that the Demon Race was hanging by a thread.
Infiltration, corruption, and demonic transformation were the true enemies.
So they couldn't use traditional notions of good and evil.
They couldn't be absolutely good.
They had to tolerate some evil.
They had to use the Debate of Culture and Barbarians.
And strike back at their enemies, killing them.
That was where the conflict lay.
The Succubus Queen wouldn't flee. Instead, she'd help the Demon Race preserve as many troops as possible, along with various lesser and greater generals, and make herself useful.
Then she'd escape at the last possible moment.
It was all so she could gain more authority within the Demon Race.
She wanted to understand the reason behind the sacrifices.
She knew they were sacrifices to the Demon God.
But why would the great Demon God even devour his own children?
If she'd never seen the light, she wouldn't have thought that way.
But this Succubus Queen had fallen in love, and had been exposed to the light for a long time.
Lynn needed to capture the Succubus Queen. He had to find every possible way to study succubi and capture them, while also thinking about how to transform them.
Some especially evil succubi got up to things like body modification. They talked about it as if Lynn knew nothing about such taboos.
It was just that Lynn didn't like desecrating life.
Lynn wasn't righteous. He was simply working to create the society he wanted, and to serve his own feelings.
The battle began soon after.
