At the scene, with Superman and General Zod fighting, Li Ang was the only one left facing the Kryptonians.
Batman, that old schemer, knew he was no match for the Kryptonians, so naturally he wasn't about to join the fray.
But his voice came through Li Ang's earpiece.
"Can you beat them?"
"They haven't absorbed much sunlight. In theory, they shouldn't be very strong."
Batman's calm voice made Li Ang's mouth twitch.
There were more than twenty Kryptonians. Even Darkseid would have to run, wouldn't he?
But as Batman had said, they'd only been absorbing solar energy for a few hours at most.
They hadn't even activated any special superpowers.
They were just a little stronger than normal.
So Li Ang was eager to give it a try. "I'll see."
He'd absorbed solar energy for quite a while, and he knew magic, too.
Kryptonians weren't as resistant to magic as they were to physical attacks.
So Li Ang flew straight over.
The Kryptonian warriors didn't know what to do. In truth, they were a little hesitant, too.
They weren't sure whether they should go help General Zod.
As it happened, they were divided into two factions.
One faction was made up of the warriors who had originally followed General Zod. They weren't ordinary soldiers, but General Zod's loyalists who had followed him in Krypton's military coup.
Otherwise, the Kryptonian council wouldn't have exiled them.
They were steadfast, and not easily swayed.
The other faction was different. They belonged to General Astra.
They weren't particularly loyal to Zod.
So the two factions reacted differently when Li Ang flew over.
General Zod's men glared at Li Ang, while General Astra's people remained calm.
After all, their general had gone off to play out a family drama with her niece. She wasn't here.
