The Ionians and Noxians both honored their agreement and didn't attack early. The two sides formed up on the battlefield, waiting for their commanders to give the order.
From a distance, the Noxian army looked imposing and orderly. Their gleaming armor formed a steel wall, and their dark red banners seemed soaked in blood.
By comparison, the Ionian allied forces looked much more disorganized. We had no uniforms, and our weapons came in all shapes and sizes, but everyone wore the same expression: a burning desire for victory!
The Noxian army was the first to sound the charge. Even as they advanced, they kept their ranks steady and orderly.
It seemed the Black Feather Legion differed somewhat from the War Axe Legion. I remembered that back in Demacia, Darius's army had been noticeably more savage.
The allied forces sounded the countercharge, and everyone rushed toward the battlefield, one after another. I remembered how chaotic I'd felt the first time I went to war. Now, however, I was remarkably calm. Countless bloody battles had tempered my resolve.
I drew the Gale Sword and raced forward. Riven ran alongside me, still gripping her broken sword. The faint Wind Force around it seemed to have returned to its former state.
Angry shouts and agonized cries announced the moment the two sides clashed. The open battlefield gradually filled with the stench of blood. On the late-autumn plain, the morning dew had barely evaporated before blood took its place.
I did my best to avoid striking my enemies in vital places, but those I hit still died in agony. They
