"Warning! Warning! The host has encountered a Tier 3 Water Elemental and multiple Tier 2 Water Elementals. Please leave the area immediately to avoid danger."

As he approached the big gate of the bar, Zeng Mo heard the system prompt. The corners of his mouth curled into a smile. They really were right here.

Right away, he turned to leave.

But the next second, he was stopped by the man the bar's gatekeeper had beaten and thrown outside.

"Don't go in there. It's dangerous."

Zeng Mo gave him a sidelong glance, then turned and headed toward the back of the bar, looking through the windows of several private rooms.

With a single leap, he slipped inside through a window, searched the bar's private rooms, and collected the supplies he found—food and other items—before stuffing them into his survival backpack.

However, the moment he stepped back out, he heard an angry shout from a mine.

"Little bastard!"

Zeng Mo glanced in that direction, then turned and headed toward the mine.

At that moment, inside one of the bar's private rooms,

a yellow-haired man sat with a few of his underlings around him, bawling like a child.

Across from him sat a man with a full beard, dressed in a suit. He held a thick cigar in his hand and was glaring angrily at the yellow-haired man.

A few burly men stood around the bearded man, looking like the henchmen of a crime boss.

"Listen up. I gave you a chance to go to the north side of the city and dig up the rocks for me. It's been three days, and you haven't even found a single person. Are you saying you don't take me seriously?" The bearded man's voice was rough and stern.

The yellow-haired man looked up through his tears and said, "Boss, give me two more days."

"Bah!" The bearded man stood and slapped him across the face. "Two more days? Are you planning to feed me to the sea monsters?"

The yellow-haired man pleaded, "Boss, please! Yesterday, my men and I went out, but we didn't expect that woman to have someone with her who could fight. He beat us all up. Look at the bruises on my arms—they're all from him."

"Someone who can fight? Could he be one of that woman's bodyguards?" The bearded man's eyes narrowed, his expression turning vicious. "If he's still alive, then it looks like he's got something against me."

"Boss, I promise that tomorrow my men and I will beat him to a pulp." The yellow-haired man clutched his purple-black arm and swore.

"You've got a lot of nerve, making promises when you can't even protect yourself." The bearded man kicked him hard, then turned to leave with his men.

The yellow-haired man didn't dare dodge. He was kicked straight to the ground, landing near the entrance of a mine. There, he spotted a sneaky figure and immediately shouted,

"Who are you?"

"Huh?" The bearded man, who was about to leave, heard the yellow-haired man's voice. He turned sharply and yelled, "Which bastard's hiding over there? Come out before I drag you out!"

Zeng Mo realized he'd been spotted. He didn't bother hiding anymore. He walked out and gave the so-called Boss a cold smile.

"A big shot picking on a dying man and a weak woman? What a real show of strength."

The Boss's face darkened at Zeng Mo's words. He pointed at him and shouted,

"Grab him! Beat him until he can't talk!"

In an instant, all his men, including the yellow-haired man and the others, rushed at Zeng Mo.

Zeng Mo immediately used his power to boost his four attributes. Then, with a single slap, he knocked the yellow-haired man, who was rushing at him first, flying through the air and onto the ground.

Hearing the system notification, Zeng Mo smiled. He raised his hand and slapped the yellow-haired man's underlings one by one, knocking them all to the ground.

Then he turned to the Boss's men, who were approaching him. One by one, he grabbed them by the shoulders and threw them to the ground.

"Damn, you guys are useless. You haven't even managed to survive three years."

Zeng Mo grumbled, then looked toward the Boss standing in front of the bar's gate.

At that moment,

the Boss was staring in shock at the young man walking toward him.

The young man in a black suit moved at a speed beyond anything they could have imagined. Inside the dimly lit bar, he moved like a ghost, quickly knocking down each of the Boss's men and leaving them groaning on the ground.

Then he turned and ran out.

But Zeng Mo appeared in front of him in the blink of an eye and grabbed him by the throat.

"You were just about to say you'd beat me to a pulp."

"Ah." The Boss's eyes rolled back, and the cigar fell from his hand. He stammered, "I... I..."

"Bah."

Zeng Mo slapped him once, but still didn't hear the ear-pleasing notification. He frowned in disappointment.

This big guy had actually survived three years—he was quite a bit stronger than his little underlings.

That was a little frustrating.

He'd hoped to get his first kill.

Zeng Mo frowned, slapped him again, then turned and sat down at a nearby booth. He picked up the wine, poured himself a glass, and raised it to his lips.

"Little bastard, you're going to pay for this. Tell me your name."

The Boss, clutching his swollen throat, had finally regained his senses. He pointed at Zeng Mo and roared, "You can beat me all you want, but you'd better leave your name!"

Zeng Mo thought for a moment, then said, "Yu Lin's husband."

"Good. I'll remember that."

The Boss shot him a vicious glare, then led his men out of the bar.

After knocking down the yellow-haired man and his men, Zeng Mo earned 580 Survival Points. He didn't bother sitting back down on the booth. Instead, he went straight out of the bar.

Once outside, he quickly searched the area. After retrieving the equipment he'd left behind, he went to where he'd parked the car, got in, and drove back toward the gathering place.

"I wonder if she's up yet."

Zeng Mo murmured, then took the time to buy a breakfast bun and headed back.

"Hubby, you're up? Yu Lin and I are starving."

At that moment, Yu Lin wore only a thin nightgown. Her shapely figure was clearly visible beneath the translucent fabric.

Zeng Mo's eyes lit up. His mouth went dry, and he asked, "Where's Yu Lin?"

"She went downstairs to get the food. She should be back soon."

"Oh, then I'll eat first." Zeng Mo placed the buns on the table and took a seat. He picked one up and took a bite, then said, "Honey, I've been learning some self-defense techniques recently. I asked the instructor to teach a few women how to protect themselves from the wolves. I was thinking I'd teach you and Yu Lin too. What do you think?"

"You want to teach me how to protect myself from the wolves?" Yu Lin said as she ate her bun. "I'm already learning martial arts. I don't need to, but Yu Lin isn't. You can teach her."

"Then we'll wait until she gets back. You can ask her if she wants to learn."

"All right."

After breakfast, Yu Lin grabbed her phone and hurried out. She also picked up a bun to eat. Yu Lin had heard Zeng Mo say he wanted to teach her some self-defense, so she'd hurried to find him, eager to learn.

Zeng Mo set down the bowl in his hand and said, "There's no time like the present. Let me teach you a simple move for throwing off an attacker."

"Sure!" Yu Lin set down the bun she'd been holding.

Zeng Mo smiled to himself. He could finally get his first kill. He had her stand in front of him, then suddenly grabbed her arm, swept her legs out from under her, and threw her to the ground.
