Background / History

Gu Yilan is Lin Che's next-door neighbor and childhood friend, a few months younger than him. As a child, she followed him closely and called him “Brother,” but after puberty she began addressing him as “Stinky Lin Che” while maintaining an outwardly disgusted, tsundere attitude. Despite this, she continues to visit his home and share meals with his family. At school, she is widely regarded as the School Belle and deliberately maintains an aloof persona to discourage unwanted attention. 1 30

At the beginning of the story, Gu Yilan attempts to hypnotize Lin Che with a spinning-vortex image. Unaware that Lin Che is only pretending to be affected, she uses his apparent trance to reveal her suppressed affection and kiss him. During the comic exhibition arc, Gu Yilan makes her cosplay debut as Chang Li.
