Void's Anomaly

This wasn't Kaisa's first time in this laboratory.

Because the water pipes were torn apart during the earthquake, a subterranean river that could only accommodate one person at a time gradually formed. Moreover, most Void creatures disliked water. So, ever since discovering Nugra Laboratory, Kaisa would occasionally travel along the waterway to this place during dangerous times or when she had free time, resting quietly in the spacious laboratory.

Down below, rest was incredibly precious. For Kaisa, who was alone (plus a layer of Void skin?), having a resting spot where she wouldn't be disturbed by other Void creatures was undoubtedly very important.

But now, when Kaisa, in an emergency, came to this sanctuary seeking refuge, a group of strangers appeared. And one of them, a bald blue-skinned man, attacked her with a flurry of spells at lightning speed. Caught off guard, Kaisa was instantly imprisoned.

Helpless, she could only partially open her Void skin, revealing her face.

"I'm not a monster," her voice was weary and resigned. "I'm just someone who came here to rest."

Unfortunately, just like many times before, this explanation didn't seem to convince these strangers. The spell imprisoning Kaisa wasn't canceled. On the contrary, Kaisa felt her breathing becoming difficult. The bald blue-skinned man looked extremely serious, as if he didn't believe her explanation at all, completely intent on killing her.

The air in her chest seemed to be sucked out in an instant, and Kaisa's next words were choked in her throat.

After all, who would be willing to believe a monster?

Just then, a person wearing a mask emerged from a nearby passage and strode towards Kaisa.

"Wait a moment," his voice was gentle and calm. "Let me talk to her first—I'm better at this."
