[0793] The Fishmen War
After realizing that the leader of the fishmen in this war might be Renekton, Azir was quite excited.
There was no need to explain the significance of an Ascended. It meant not only immense personal power, but also extensive experience commanding troops. Although Azir's "New Shurima" was still in its farming stage, and Nasus's main task remained clearing out and transporting the Great Library's books, it was easy to imagine that the road ahead would not always be peaceful.
Communications with Shurima's other organizations could get quite heated when necessary, and having someone like Nasus who could fight was undoubtedly important.
So, as soon as he got the news, Nasus set aside his work and headed west.
It wasn't hard to find out about the fishmen war, since it had grown large enough to affect the local situation.
By the time Nasus arrived at the Fuma Peninsula, signs of the war were everywhere. All he had to do was find a tavern and order a drink, and the server behind the bar would be more than happy to tell him about the conflict, which was growing fiercer by the day.
In fact, though the sea merchants who sailed the Merfolk Sea had all gone to Antashil to "ask for help," the locals found the war quite entertaining.
According to them, the Vastaya had apparently once lived in some ruins that had been sealed underground, while the merfolk had never left the sea. Neither side had anything to do with the locals.
So to the locals, the war was pretty amusing. In their free time, they even went in groups to the coast to watch the Vastaya battle the fishmen.
The bizarre-looking Vastaya were quite a sight, while the merfolk's wet upper bodies, emerging from the
